The Pueblo community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 21-year-old Javien Aaron Miller, who tragically passed away following a fatal crash on Interstate 25 near the City Center on-ramp on Thursday morning, June 18. According to the Pueblo Police Department, the collision occurred shortly after 9:40 a.m. in the southbound lanes of I-25 when Miller’s vehicle left the roadway and struck a stationary flatbed trailer parked on the shoulder. Authorities confirmed that the semi-truck involved had pulled over due to a suspected mechanical issue and was fully clear of active traffic lanes at the time of impact. Emergency responders arrived promptly and provided life-saving efforts; however, Javien was pronounced deceased at the scene. No additional injuries were reported.
The roadway was closed for several hours as investigators worked diligently to document evidence, clear debris, and reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.
